Walker Hometown Pride
East Central Iowa Council of Government (ECICOG)’s Hometown Pride program brings neighbors together to build a sense of community, create and improve public amenities and celebrate what makes our hometowns great. Walker Hometown Pride is part of a state-wide network of Hometown Pride programs across Iowa. Participating communities in East Central Iowa are: Center Point, Hills, Shellsburg, Springville and Walker. These five communities have a Hometown Pride team of local volunteers who work together to identify and complete projects that will improve the quality of life in their town and boost community pride.

The new venue will host concerts, festivals, school performances, and other cultural events, strengthening community connections while showcasing local talent. By providing accessible and family-friendly programming, the bandshell will enrich the quality of life for residents, attract visitors to the area, and support the vitality of Walker’s local economy.

- Economic stimulation: events held there may draw visitors, support local businesses, and showcase Walker as a regional cultural destination.
