In an effort to increase ridership and serve more commuters in the corridor, the 380Express service is considering some minor changes. Since 2018 the highest use of the service has clearly been between the Cedar Rapids Kirkwood park and ride lot and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics during the morning and afternoon peak travel times. Service for these locations during peak-times will not change. However, the earliest morning routes, and late evening routes do not have as high demand for service. In addition, the fast growing areas of North Liberty and Coralville are showing more need for commuter transit options.

380Express is proposing a change that will add a new daily route connecting Cedar Rapids to the University of Iowa Health Care Medical Center North Liberty, and the Kirkwood Regional Center at the University of Iowa with two round-trip routes in the AM and PM peak periods. This would be a new route separate from the main 380Express service. The proposed change would remove one route from the early morning and two routes from the evening service of the main 380Express service.

The main 380Express service would also make some slight adjustments for PM route stop times in order to improve on-time performance. The proposed schedule is shown below:

Location of Potential New Stops:

University of Iowa Health Care Medical Center North Liberty: 701 W Forevergreen Rd, North Liberty, IA 52317

Kirkwood Regional Center at the University of Iowa: Park and Ride location at south end of parking lot at 2301 Oakdale Blvd, Coralville, IA 52241.

In addition, with increasing costs to operate the 380Express into the future a fare increase is proposed that will increase the base fare from $3.50 to $4.00. This will slightly increase 10-ride and monthly unlimited passes as shown in the table below.

RegularElderly & Disabled
One-Way$4.00$2.00
Round-Trip$8.00$4.00
10-Ride$37.00$18.50
Monthly$144.00$72.00

Please leave feedback on these proposed changes in the survey or ideas tab on this page. You can also share via info@380express.com, or the 380Express Facebook page. If implemented, these changes could occur in early 2026. Any changes to the service will be communicated in advance via social media, the 380Express website, notices on the buses, and partner agencies such as the University of Iowa, Kirkwood Community College, and local governments.
